Granite State Punk Departs From Scout Comics

Palm Bay, Florida 11/24/2024 – Granite State Punk, created by writer Travis Gibb, is no longer going to be published by Scout Comics. This was a mutual agreement to release the rights back to Travis Gibb and Orange Cone Productions. This will allow Travis Gibb and the Orange Cone Productions creative team of Patrick Buermeyer (Artist), Jerome Gagnon (Letterer), and Heather Gibb (Editor) to explore new opportunities in the ever-evolving comic book landscape. The departure comes on positive terms, with both Gibb and Scout Comics expressing mutual appreciation for their collaboration.

"Scout Comics has been an incredible home for Granite State Punk. Their support helped bring this project to life and reach a wide audience. I will always be grateful for that opportunity. It was my first solo series published in the direct market," said Travis Gibb. "As I explore new avenues for this series, I will always be thankful for the role Scout played in growing this series beyond a Kickstarter audience."

Since its debut, Granite State Punk has captivated readers with its unique blend of punk rock energy, supernatural intrigue, and its homage to New England's rich cultural heritage. The series garnered widespread praise for its gritty storytelling and bold visual style, resonating with fans across the indie comics community.

Looking ahead, Gibb plans to expand Granite State Punk through new formats and platforms, including a recently announced soundtrack featuring punk bands from New Hampshire and New England, and the upcoming trade to end the first season of the book. With the series’ loyal fanbase and its creator’s entrepreneurial drive, the future is bright for this rebellious and innovative comic book. Orange Cone Productions will work hard to find a new partner to release Granite State Punk in the direct market.
